Carrollton Main Street Program

The Carrollton Main Street Program is a nonprofit program that was created in 1985 in response to the booming growth of the downtown. Using the four point approach of organization, promotions, design, and economic redevelopment our program is a source of support for the businesses and a resource for the community. Our downtown is the setting for four annual events. Every spring Mayfest, our annual arts and crafts festival, is a source of fun and entertainment for the whole family. Historical Education is a key ingredient to what makes our program so special, using our mascot Dr. Adamson, a pig who is hip to all things downtown; we help educate the community about fun historical facts. Using beautification projects such as our façade grant program we have been able to help encourage building rehabilitation projects which help maintain and preserve the historical feel and integrity of the square. Murals and design elements help keep our streets looking beautiful and inviting and keep Carrollton the destination of choice for visitors.
Our downtown is home to a variety of shops, restaurants and professional services that range from clothing, antiques and home décor to chiropractors, salons and spa services. We are proud to be the home of Horton’s Bookstore the old bookstore in the state of Georgia and with wide sidewalks, colorful awnings and warm welcomes from all of our merchants whether you’re out for a casual stroll or searching for that one of a kind item you’ll discover everything you need in Downtown Carrollton.
